Baccarat Rules

Since there is little for the player to actually do other than bet each deal, baccarat really is an easy casino game to play. The house controls the cards, there are no choices to make after an initial bet. .

Players can bet on a tie, the bankers hand or the players hand to win, with the winning hand being closest to a total of 9 as possible.
Unlike Blackjack, you cannot bust. That is because ten is removed from the total any time it goes in excess of ten. As an illustration, a 5 and 7 totals thirteen, which would be a baccarat hand total of 3 after ten is taken from the total.

To start, each player chooses somewhere to bet, next both the player(s) along with the banker get two cards.

When the player or dealers total is 8 or 9, they have a natural and neither gets any more cards. If both the player and dealer get a ‘natural’, then the result is a tie.

If there is no “natural” dealt with the two initial cards, the subsequent rules determine what occurs:

The player goes initially:

The Players Hand Is: The Dealers Hand Is:
0 through 5 Draw a card
6 or 7 Stay

After the players turn is complete, what happens next depends on the players hand.

The Players Hand Is:
0, 1 or 2 Any hand Draws a card
3 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Takes a card
8 No further cards
9 Stay
4 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Draw a card
0, 1, 8 or 9 Stay
5 5, 6 or 7 Draw a card
0, 1, 2, 3, 8 or 9 Stays
4 Draws a card
6 6 or 7 Draws a card
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 or 9 Stays
7 Anything No further cards

After the deal, the hand valued closest to nine wins.
